Award winning Bristol radio station turns ten years old

On Sunday 26 March BCfm will mark a decade of service to the Bristol community by hosting the Diversity Awards 2017 at City Hall.

There will be live performances, music, poetry & film and will include the inaugural Bristol Diversity Awards.

The event will begin at City Hall, College Green at 17:30 and will run until 21:00.

A visit from the Mayor

A statement on the official Facebook page for the event said: “Join the entire BCfm Radio team alongside Bristol’s elected Mayor Marvin Rees and an array of Bristol’s celebrities and personalities to officially celebrate 10 years of BCfm 93.2 in style!

The radio station, which began broadcasting on 26 March 2007 on 93.2fm, are dedicated to representing the many under-served members or groups within Bristol that don’t get access to the airwaves.

Their ethos is centred around diversity and inclusivity, with a philosophy to inform, educate and entertain the people of Bristol, something which has won them numerous awards.

Bristol Community fm is a registered charity and is entirely ran by volunteers who freely giving their time and skills due to their shared passion for radio and the city they broadcast to.

The event is using the occasion to raise £10,000 to update BCfm’s studio facilities, support our community outreach work, and build the foundations for the next 10 years.
