Two people arrested after a van crashed into a house in Clevedon, killing a woman inside, have been released by police.
The man and the woman who were inside the van when it crashed into the house on Yeolands Drive on Wednesday evening were arrested under suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police said today that they had been released under investigation.
Less than 48 hours after the fatal crash, neighbours were still in shock the incident that took the life of a 90-year-old woman.
Neighbours had to be evacuated while a suspected gas leak was investigated.
The van was seen by CCTV leaving the Crab Apple Inn, a few moments before the accident.
A neighbours of the victim, Clive Burston, said: “I can’t believe what happened in this beautiful and quiet area.”
He added: “I have lived here for 30 years; this is unbelievable.”
