Today is the last day of trading for Bristol’s Eastville Market, a famous landmark that has been running for over 50 years.
The stall owners blame the supermarkets for stealing their customers and say there is a growing lack of interest in local produce.
Stall owner Bob said: “I have been selling fruit and veg for over 40 years. It’s sad to see it go. There definitely might be some tears.”
Regular customer Sian Jones said: “My family have lots of fruit and veg in our diets and it’s a lot cheaper and much better quality from here. It’s sad that people are ignoring their local markets.”
