and there are &#8220;not that many bus routes&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/painting_car_park.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-37539\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/painting_car_park.jpg 700w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/painting_car_park-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/painting_car_park-640x366.jpg 640w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/painting_car_park-681x389.jpg 681w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">If the NPC car park is demolished, the mural will be lost, too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, Bristol City Centre is not the only area facing a decrease in parking options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">South Gloucestershire Council has recently announced that it will start charging parking fees at St. Mary Shopping Centre in Thornbury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Councillor Liz Brennan, Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group on South Gloucestershire Council who has been actively campaigning against the introduction of parking fees says that, \u201crisks harming highstreets, shopping centres and local economy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NCP car park on Nelson Street has been sold to London-based developer Downing while a planning application is in at City Council for the one on Rupert Street.
