It&#8217;s a satire about&#8230; how food like that is sold as being all fun and colourful&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aardman.com\/film-tv-games\/chicken-run\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.aardman.com\/film-tv-games\/chicken-run\/\">Chicken Run<\/a> (2000), directed by Nick Park and Peter Lord, was Aardman&#8217;s first full-length theatrical feature film, and remains the highest-grossing stop motion animation film of all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"icfv_T5pkdI\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget | Official Teaser | Netflix\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/icfv_T5pkdI?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The independent Bristol film studio is home to iconic characters including Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Something I like about stop motion animation is that it&#8217;s timeless &#8211; and it&#8217;s a very old technique&#8221; says Sam Fell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There&#8217;s a tradition of comical British filmmaking and Aardman fly that flag&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The movie speaks for itself now. We&#8217;ve done so much work on it.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aardman Animations co-founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton began the company in Bristol in 1976.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It&#8217;s an independent British film studio making one great film after another and has been for years.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their creations decorate the city, with the &#8216;Gromit Unleashed&#8217; statues continuing to be Bristol landmarks, with the characters raising funds to support sick babies and children at Bristol Children&#8217;s Hospital since 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next Gromit Unleashed trail will take place in Summer 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8216;Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget&#8217; hits cinemas on today, and is available for streaming on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/gb\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/gb\/\">Netflix<\/a> from 15th December 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bristol-based studio Aardman is releasing the sequel to &#8216;Chicken Run&#8217; (2000) in cinemas across the country today.
