South Western Ambulance Service (@swasFT) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/swasFT\/status\/1735019333355442641?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 13, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BBC reported that overcrowding on wards means that some patients arriving by ambulance are stuck in queues outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ambulance service leaders are saying these waiting times put patients at risk of harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, are asking communities across the region to use it&#8217;s services responsibly this winter, in preparation for a challenging period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In response to the demand they have released the following guidance on their website:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The public can help us by ONLY calling 999 for life-threatening emergencies \ud83d\udcde\ud83d\udea8<br><br>We absolutely must have crews available for the most life-threatening conditions and we will be prioritising these patients.\ud83d\ude91<br><br>Please read for further details\ud83d\udd3d<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Odn5cgVYci\">https:\/\/t.co\/Odn5cgVYci<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HshEgJutvP\">pic.twitter.com\/HshEgJutvP<\/a><\/p>&mdash;
