Cllr Peat further stated that she \u201ccan be quite critical,\u201d as this issue is \u201cclose to her heart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the next 5 years, she said one of the strategies the council is focusing on is \u201camending the way we look at home choice to make it more accessible\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Mr Thomas is suspicious of the promises that the council has made for example, eradicating homelessness by 2027, he has stated that \u201cit\u2019s a broad statement to make\u201d. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bristol Council have stated in the new 5-year plan that they will interact with more organisations. However, Cllr Peat has stated that \u201cthe council don\u2019t get a lot of money\u201d in contrast to what Jaspar Thomas has declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has also said that \u201cYou will never eradicate the homeless\u201d. Thomas further said that some homeless people are \u201chappy to live in the woods\u201d. Bristol City Council will decide who has priority, which is mainly children and families, according to Cllr Peat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She also stated that &#8220;there are a lot of things in the proposed strategy that are not rocket science,&#8221; and she wishes to amend this, so she can help as much as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The head of Help Bristol&#8217;s Homeless, a charity that is trying to support homeless people, said they get \u201czero interaction\u201d with Bristol City Council.
