{"id":43839,"date":"2025-11-21T13:10:39","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T13:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/?p=43839"},"modified":"2026-06-15T14:42:29","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T13:42:29","slug":"man-found-guilty-of-bristol-teens-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/2025\/11\/21\/man-found-guilty-of-bristol-teens-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Man found guilty of Bristol teen&#8217;s murder"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1-700x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43843\" style=\"width:1062px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1-700x394.jpg 700w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1-747x420.jpg 747w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1-681x383.jpg 681w, https:\/\/uwejournalism.net\/bowernews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_6048-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Zachariah Talbert Young (left) was found guilty of murder while Paul Elijah Hayden (right) was found not guilty &#8211; Photo courtesy Avon And Somerset Police<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A man was found guilty yesterday of murdering 19-year-old Eddie King Muthemba Kinuthia in Bristol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zachariah Talbert Young, 27, was convicted of stabbing Eddie in Grosvenor Park, St Pauls, in July 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CCTV showed two men sharing an e-bike in the park late at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kinuthia approached the men and was stabbed several times before they rode away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paramedics arrived within minutes, but Kinuthia&#8217;s injuries were too severe for him to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Young and 22-year-old Paul Elijah Hayden were also found guilty of attempted murder in a separate attack on a man  in February 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The victim in that incident was stabbed multiple times in Easton Way but survived thanks to fast medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday\u2019s verdicts have been a long time coming for Irene, Eliud, Elliott, and the rest of Eddie\u2019s family,&#8221; said Detective Chief Inspector Mark Almond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSadly, nothing can bring Eddie back&#8230; but Bristol\u2019s streets are safer now that Zachariah Talbert Young and Paul Elijah Hayden will remain behind bars for many years to come.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives used CCTV and phone records to link Young to the murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hayden also faced a murder charge, but the judge ruled there was not enough evidence to prove he took part, so the jury found him not guilty of Kinuthia&#8217;s killing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A third person, Remi Hitchcock, 30, was cleared of helping the offenders in Kinuthia&#8217;s murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The verdicts were delivered after five weeks of evidence at Bristol Crown Court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both men remain in custody and will be sentenced soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man was found guilty yesterday of murdering 19-year-old Eddie King Muthemba Kinuthia in Bristol.
