know what his support staff were striking over during negotiations yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheila Caffrey from the National Education Union (NEU) revealed unions met with the trust\u2019s CEO to discuss back pay demands following two days of strike action across 12 Bristol schools this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She claimed the CEO was dismissive of the negotiations, saying: \u201cHe said there was nothing on offer at all, and he was still very confused and didn\u2019t know what people were even asking for.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure dispute arose over support staff claiming they are owed hundreds of pounds worth of back pay due to CST withholding pay rises for five months of each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pay rises are negotiated in April aligned with the financial year yet were only being implemented each September, Unison claimed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This week\u2019s strikes saw teaching assistants, administrators, librarians, finance officers, caretakers and caterers walkout. They were accompanied by teachers and students with all 12 schools forced to close on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignfull has-black-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-1 is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgb(238,238,238) 0%,rgb(230,227,227) 100%)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:90%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2\" style=\"font-size:20px\">What is the Cathedral Schools Trust?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:12px\">The Cathedral Schools Trust is a multi-academy Trust which runs 12 primary and secondary schools in the wider Bristol area. Its CEO Neil Blundel started as the Headteacher of Bristol Cathedral Choir School in 2008, and helped establish the Trust in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:12px\">The 12 schools belonging to the CST family, and those taking part in the strike action, are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100\" class=\"wp-block-list has-regular-font-size\">\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Ashton Gate Primary School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Cathedral Primary School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Victoria Park Primary School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Headley Park Primary School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Henleaze Infant School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Henleaze Junior School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Hotwells Primary School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Bristol Cathedral Choir School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">St Katherine&#8217;s School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Stoke Park Primary School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">St Werburgh&#8217;s Primary School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:12px\">Trinity Academy Bristol <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100\"><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the picket line at Cathedral Primary School, a learning support assistant named Fran said she was striking \u201cto get back the money that I am owed by the trust\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI feel, and other people feel, that they\u2019ve stolen from us,\u201d she added.
