A 15-foot inflatable Elf on the Shelf has been installed on Bristol’s Park Street this morning.
Hosted by Redcliffe & Temple BID, Bristol City Centre BID and the Lumistella Company, the installation will tour various Bristol locations leading up to Christmas Eve.
In attempts to “showcase Bristol’s unique character and community spirit”, the ‘Scout Elf’ will be visiting ten sites including Temple Meads station, the Hippodrome, and the Planetarium.
Alongside the oversized elf, the Improvement Districts will be running a series of pop-up events, meet and greets, and competitions to “bring new activities and adventures to these iconic spots.”

The campaign is returning to Bristol after it proved popular with residents last year. Vicky Lee, Director of the Bristol City Centre BID, says that it “has quickly become a holiday favourite for the city … It’s all about celebrating Bristol.”
The Elf, nicknamed ‘Isambard Kingdom Brunelf’, will stay in place on top of the Masonic Hall on Park Street until Monday 25th November, before it moves to the Old Fire Station in Broadmead.
The director of the Redcliffe & Temple BID, Steve Bluff, explains that “our aim is to create a Christmas experience that inspires Bristolians to explore their city and enjoy these well-loved locations in a fresh, festive light.”
