The M49 is expected to remain closed until at least 3pm after a four-vehicle incident yesterday evening.
The northbound direction of the motorway has been closed since 5:50pm yesterday after the incident occured.
National Highways have stated that the carriageway needs significant repairs and resurfacing before it can be reopened.

The road surface has been impacted by fuel spillages, which has added to the clean-up time.
Only one person is believed to have been taken to hospital, with injuries that are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Motorists are still being advised to avoid the area.
