Bristol City Council are being asked to approve a tree works and planting programme, which aims to enhances the city’s highways and
landscapes.
The proposal aims to increase tree canopy cover whilst offsetting the impact from the loss of ash trees made unsafe by Ash Dieback disease.
Ash Dieback Disease is an airborne fungal disease which damages the leaf canopy, which makes the tree brittle, and cause a risk to people and property. Bristol City Council estimates that between 3000-4000 trees have been affected by Ash Dieback, and they need to be felled, to protect residents from harm.
