Preparations are underway to prepare Colston Avenue for a service at the cenotaph on November 9 to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.
Military groups, cadets and veterans will walk from College Green to the Cenotaph at around 10:25am, in time to observe the national two-minute silence.
A message shared by the Leader of Bristol City Council, Cllr Tony Dyer, stressed the importance of unity ahead of the weekend.
“This Remembrance Sunday we come together as one city – honouring the bravery of those who served and recognising how our shared future depends on community, unity and kindness,” he said.
“Over the next few days, our nation’s flags will be displayed and worn – a symbol of the sacrifices made by people from all of our city’s diverse communities.
“In Bristol we believe in standing shoulder to shoulder across every background, identity and belief. Let us remember with gratitude, act with compassion, and build a city where everyone is welcomed, safe and valued.”

Cllr Henry Michallat, Lord Mayor of Bristol, said “We hope that the residents of Bristol will join us to honour and reflect on those who gave their lives defending our freedoms.
“It is important to take time to remember the lives lost during conflict. As a city, we come together in unity to reflect on those who have sacrificed their lives for peace.”
