The stallholders of the historic market have joined together to ‘speak through one voice’ in response to the uncertain future of St Nick’s. A survey commissioned by Bristol City Council found the buildings to be in need of £5.5 million in ‘critical’ repairs. However, the council can only cover a tenth of these costs. The traders have urged the council to protect the marketplace, their community and its historic significance.
