TIER mobility have issued an apology about the lack of e-scooters available, following a growing number of complaints about the company.

The company says that a number of their vehicles have an issue with the kickstand and they are working to fix the issue.

The apology, which was sent to users on the TIER app, promises that more scooter will be available from now on: “The availability of e-scooters has been affected, however from today the number of rentable scooters is increasing daily.”

TIER arrived in Bristol on 14th October, replacing Voi, which had operated in the city since 2020.

Last year e-scooter companies bid for a long term contract in Bristol, with Tier chosen to take over from Voi.

Complaints about the service include the lack of scooters available, low battery on scooters, and issues using the app.

No e-bikes have been introduced by TIER. Bristol City Council says that the bikes will be available in the city at some point, but cannot give a timeframe on their arrival.

Councillor David Wilcox says he has met with Bristol City Council about the issues with the Tier scooters and is waiting on communication from the West of England Combined Authority.

Voi have also weighed in on the issue. Replying to a tweet criticising TIER and asking for Voi to come back to the city, the company said: @We miss being in Bristol. We were very proud of what we achieved in the West of England.”
