A giant Elf on the shelf has been released into Bristol today as part of a Christmas hide and seek extravaganza.
It’s been released onto the streets of Bristol by Redcliffe & Temple Business Improvement District (BID), and will be hiding around from today until Christmas Eve.

The team said: “Jump out of bed and come running to see…who’ll be the first to spy BIG old me? A 15 ft version of The Lumistella Company’s The Elf on the Shelf Scout Elf will land on city buildings to bring cheer”.
Redcliffe & Temple BID added: “The Elf on the Shelf will be the perfect early present to kids throughout Bristol, who will be delighted to spot the elf in a larger-than-life game of hide and seek”.
Steve Bluff, the head of Redcliffe & Temple BID said: “We can’t wait to delight workers, residents and visitors this festive season with a big old Christmas cracker – all while bringing festive fun to some of our city’s undiscovered areas.”
The elf is 15 feet tall and named Isambard Kingdom Brunelf, or Brunelf for short.
This follows a naming competition set by Redcliffe & Temple BID who chose Jess Pointon to be their winner.

There will be daily clues shared by Redcliffe & Temple BID’s social media outlets as to where Brunelf will be hiding next, including on top of city buildings.
Bringing Elf on the Shelfs classic mischievousness you can expect to see Brunelf as it “unravels toilet rolls or eats some festive treats”.
