Christmas food banks struggling to keep up despite generous donations

Many families in Bristol are going to struggle to get through Christmas this year.

Demand for food bank items has risen by 22% in the last year, and charity North Bristol and South Glos food bank are struggling to keep up with the increased demand.

Shauna Booker Logistics Manager at the charity says “Roughly we are giving out double what we get donated each month…So we are definitely having to stock that up with shopping”.
