A fundraiser for a Bristol child who recently sustained life-altering injuries from a hit and run has almost reached its £5,000 target after just two days.
Four-year-old Carlos Crane was hit by a car driven by James Doherty on Sunday 17 November in the Lawrence Weston area of Bristol.
The hit and run left Carlos with injuries that his family are calling “life-changing” as he continues to receive critical care in hospital.
A fundraiser has been set up by Carlos’ family to help them with “the costs of traveling to the hospital daily and providing food for the family” as well as other essentials.
“This accident has turned our world upside down and has shook the family to the core,” the family have said.
“As parents, we are juggling the emotional toll of supporting Carlos through his recovery while trying to keep life as stable as possible for our other children.
“With Christmas round the corner and everyone out of work because of this tragic event we are worried about our children not getting the Christmas they deserve.”
The fundraiser has already raised £4,270 (85% of the total) since it was created two days ago, as the donations continue to flood in.
“Every donation will make a significant difference in helping us get through this unimaginable time,” they said, and will help them “give Carlos the love and support he needs to heal”.
