Bedminster mining tragedies honoured

A memorial to those killed in a mining accident will be installed this weekend at the Jolly Colliers Pub on West Street. The building sits atop the site of the former Malago Vale coalmine where 10 men miners died in an 1891 explosion. There were about 20 pits in Bedminster from 1844-1925.
