The Bristol Flyers look to avoid their previous result as the team head back up to north to the Vertu Motor Arena to face the Newcastle Eagles.
Last time when these teams met for their third game of the season the Flyers lost 94-68 to the Eagles. The Flyers suffered from a poor shooting night and high turnovers, with Michael Diggins Jr’s 15 points and the team winning the rebound battle being the only highlights.
Bristol enter this game as 4th in the league on a 4 win and 4 loss record, whereas Newcastle sit at 2nd with a record of 6-3.
Eagles head coach, Marc Steutel, highlighted that “Bristol have a certain identity, and I always respect how hard Coach Kapoulas’ teams really play,” in an interview prior to tonight’s game.
Despite the high praise from Coach Steutel, the Flyers are entering the game in less then ideal circumstances.
As well as entering this game after loosing against Manchester in their last game, Bristol will be without guard Cam Holden who is expected to miss the next few weeks with a knee cartilage injury.
Holden has been averaging 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assist this season prior to injury.
